267717-tank - SEThe State Department of Environment and Natural Resources announced the award of 36 grants totaling $66 million to local governments for drinking water improvements in March 2000. The Town of Stokesdale qualified for a $3 million grant for construction of a water system for the Town.  Plans and specifications were submitted to the State for approval  in  July, 2000.  Construction of the system began in fall of 2002.

The initial system was completed in July, 2003. The water system is available to limited areas of  the Town.

Please be advised, effective with October, 2017's water billing cycle, the Town's water rate will reflect the increase the City of Winston-Salem imposed on the Town's water purchases. Water rates will move to $6.49/per 1ooo gallons of usage, or an increase of $0.25/per thousand gallons used. Thank you.
